Upon receiving his bachelor’s degree from
University of Southern Mississippi in 1965, Butch married Dianne
Powell that August. After serving in the Marine Corps
(1966-1972), Butch and Dianne have raised their family (Lauren,
Stephanie and Jason) in Jackson, MS, and now have six
grandchildren. Butch retired from the bicycle and fitness
equipment industry in 1997 to become the CLC Director. Butch
teaches 6th grade Sunday school and is active with the Cub Scout
pack in the church. His favorite pastime is backpacking. Dianne
is pastor at St. John’s UMC in Canton, MS.
