The work will be done at 3 existing Habitat houses on the same street (Fontaine Street in Jackson, MS).
 
Scope of work for 3837 Fontaine
  • Remove 20 pieces of damaged siding
  • Cut and install 20 pieces of 3 step siding
  • Remove 16’ of damaged fascia
  • Remove 16’ of 1x2 drip edge
  • Replace fascia and drip edge
  • Remove broken window on the back of the house and replace
  • Install new trim around window
  • Caulk all new material
  • Prepare house for paint (caulk, nail loose pieces)
  • Prime house
  • Paint siding and trim 2 coats
 
1st day               Remove and replace damaged siding
                             Remove and replace window and trim
                             Remove and replace damaged trim
                             Prepare house for paint
                             Prime as much as possible
 
2nd day             Finish any carpentry work if needed
                            Finish priming house if needed
                            Paint 1st coat of paint on siding and trim                              
 
3rd day              Finish painting house
                            Wrap up any issues that came up from first 2 days
 
Volunteers needed
Assuming there is going to be a morning and afternoon shift this job could handle
10-15 volunteers each shift.
This house has more work and some volunteers need to be comfortable working on extension ladders (with a stabilizer) in order to paint the gable ends of the house.
Some volunteers will need to feel comfortable using saws in order to install the siding
 
Scope of work for 3821 Fontaine
  • Remove 2 pieces of damaged siding
  • Cut and install 2 pieces of 2 step siding
  • Remove 30’ of damaged fascia
  • Remove 16’ of 1x2 drip edge
  • Replace fascia and drip edge
  • Caulk exterior of house
  • Paint siding and trim 2 coats
 
1st day                 Remove and replace damaged siding
                              Remove and replace damaged trim
                              Prepare house for paint
                              Prime as much as possible
 
2nd day               Finish priming house if needed
                              Paint 1st coat of paint on siding and trim
 
3rd day               Finish painting house
                             Wrap up any issues that came up from first 2 days
