Children's Ministry

Sunday School
Madison UMC Children’s Ministries offers Sunday school classes for children ages 2 ½ years - 6th grade. Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday morning. Preschoolers explore God’s word through Rock Solid: Building a Heart of Faith and our  1st – 4th graders alternate between learning stations each week through the PowerXpress curriculum. 5th graders learn and experience God’s word in cool, fun, and meaningful ways using the Jesus in Jeans curriculum. Our 6th grade class prepares our children for the Confirmation experience and the transition to middle school.

Bible Time
We offer Bible Time at both our 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. worship services. Children ages 3-5 will enjoy a short children’s sermon during the worship service and then be dismissed to Bible Time. The parent volunteers will share a Bible lesson, cookies and juice, crafts, games and free play with the children

WAM (Wednesday Night at Madison)
Our families are invited to the Fellowship Meal that begins at 5:15 p.m. every Wednesday night during the school year. The weekly program begins at 6:15 p.m. Children ages 2 ½ - 6th grade have a place to learn about Jesus! The curriculum is broken down into age groups by grade. Children will explore God’s word, learn how to use their Bible, play games, do craft activities, and most of all how to live for Christ!

SonShine Choir
Children in 1st – 4th grades are invited to participate in this Choir which meets every Wednesday night during the school year from 5:45p.m. until 6:10 p.m. After choir, the children join the WAM classes.

Special Events
Through the year, children have the opportunity to participate in various special events and activities. Some of these include Vacation Bible School, Advent activities, Easter activities, and summer events/activities. Details and dates will be published in the weekly newsletter (The Messenger) and in the Sunday bulletin.

Weekday Ministries
MUMC offers weekday services through its Preschool and After School Programs.
